Bright Cinema Stories

Editorial policy

Bright Cinema Stories aims to make close viewing clear, grounded and open to reconsideration. We distinguish what can be observed in a film from the interpretation we build around it.

Accuracy and interpretation

We check film details against the work being discussed and take care with names, titles and descriptions. Interpretations are presented as readings, not as proof of a creator's private intention unless that intention is directly supported by a reliable, attributable source. We avoid turning a possible pattern into a certainty.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for their value to readers interested in cinema storytelling. A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable reading, a review or a promised conclusion. Any material relationship relevant to a piece is disclosed alongside it.

Corrections

If you spot a factual error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and the point at issue. We review specific, checkable concerns and correct confirmed mistakes clearly. A difference of interpretation may be explained or reconsidered without being treated as a factual error.

Partners and illustrations

Paid, gifted or partner-supported material is labelled so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when used, they are identified as AI-generated and are not presented as authentic film stills or documentary evidence.
